Prescription Requests

Repeat prescriptions take 48 hours to process (excluding weekends and bank holidays). Please do not wait until your medication runs out before requesting a further supply of your medication.

A repeat prescription is a medication that you take on a regular basis. These medications need to be reviewed by a doctor at regular intervals, it is for this reason that prescriptions will be authorised by the doctor for a specific number of issues. You may be asked to make an appointment with the doctor to review your medication.

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered in any of the following ways:

  • Online – please ask a member of the reception team for a registration form if you have not already registered for this service. Find out more information on our Online Repeat Medication Ordering Service

    Access Patient Services
  • By telephone during normal surgery hours. Please phone between 11.00am and 4.00pm each day.

Prescription Collection

We have arranged for local pharmacists to collect the prescriptions from the surgery and ask that you nominate a Pharmacy to collect your prescriptions from.

All prescriptions will be ready for collection by your nominated pharmacist within 48 hours. This is to allow time for your pharmacist to collect this from the surgery and to have it ready for your collection.

Prescriptions will not be given to anyone under the age of 16, or who are not known to a staff member. If there is any doubt about a persons identity or their authorisation to collect a prescription it will not be given.
